Sunday Funnies 4: Daily Routine Infogrphic

Last week I kept a log of my daily routine. Because my schedule is different every day, I decided to average the the total hours spent a day doing several activities. Most of the categories are self-explanatory; however, some clarification can be added to the two titled “Leisure” and “Other”. Leisure describes the time I spend socializing and eating. Other describes the free time I spend alone. Each man represents one hour, summing up to a total of 24 hours.

Persepolis: Important Panel

In my opinion, the most important panel from last night’s reading is the last one on page 143. In it, Marji is shown as having just punched the principal. In response, the principal screams “Satrapi, you’re expelled!” Because of this incident, Marji’s life takes a sudden turn. She can no longer stay in her school, and nowhere nearby seems willing to take her. In fact, her actions cause her to leave the country, away from her family, friends, and people. A great change in her way of life and thinking is bound to occur in Austria.

Sunday Funnies 3: Visual Note Taking

christiannotes

After my PSYC 111 class on Wednesday, I decided to take my written notes and draw them out.  Above is a visual representation of the “W.E.I.R.D” people that are Americans.  In the field of psychology, the majority of researchers use Americans as their test subjects.  However, Americans are a very specific type of people that do not represent the entire world population.  Concerns have raised about whether or not American psychology is actually trustworthy.

I enjoyed creating these visual notes because it made me think critically about the class lecture.  By spending a long time on my drawings, I now have a stronger understanding of the material.

Check out the assignment here.
