For this assignment, I decided to map the relationship between Alison and her father. The most difficult part was to decide how to frame the argument and find a way to create a map that supports it. I finally decided that the best way to approach this topic was to divide it in five categories that explore the different phases in the relationship of the main characters (Alison and Bruce). The prompt for the assignment is here and you can see my map here. Hope you enjoy it!.
While working on Mapping Fun Home, it took a while to decide what elements I was going to use in my interpretation of the memoir. After deciding which elements I was going to use, I then chose to to create a mind map as a visual representation to highlight the elements I chose. I believe that my map offers in framing my interpretation of Fun Home.

Active Minds (an organization dedicated to reducing the stigma surrounding mental illness) is hosting the Speak Out for Mental Health on Wednesday, April 15th at 6:00 PM in White Hall 112.
Students will have the chance to submit stories about struggles with mental health, stigma, and recovery, which will be read (anonymously if they choose) at the Speak Out. I am told that it’s a really empowering and awesome experience.
I have completed my Mapping Fun Home assignment. Click here to view the finished version! In this project, I made a bubble map of the interactions between Alison Bechdel and her father in the memoir Fun Home. I then analyzed this bubble map to see what my visualization revealed about the characters in the book. Everything went pretty fluidly, but what was hard was deciding what the best way to set up the pages of the text, because I basically just had a splash page and then a text set up as a more informal essay. Also, it was hard with a bubble map to zoom in on a certain section because it wasn’t that interesting to see a zoomed in picture of bubbles. However, I think overall the project went very smoothly.

Here is my Sunday Funnies 8 assignment. It’s an attempt to make a football.
Here is my Mapping Fun Home project. This assignment took me longer than any other assignment but I felt as though I was able to further explore parts of the book than I hadn’t focused on before.
I have published my Mapping Fun Home Project. This assignment was definitely extremely challenging but it also was very fun conceptualizing the map. My project can be found here.
Here is my Easter edition of my Sunday Funnies. My little mad scientist is mad out of easter eggs and pencil. Hope you like it!
Mapping Fun Home proved a daunting task from start to finish, but it is thankfully completed! I hope to go through a few editing processes because this is still a bit of a rough draft. Hope to hear from my peers and David soon on what I can improve upon! Here is my completed project. Enjoy!
